It was very quiet when we arrived at the ticket
counter as there were no queues or even anyone around. We thought we were in
luck till we entered the indoor themed park! OMG REALLY… it was filled with
perhaps hundreds or thousands of people. There were a few levels and they housed
different rides or area on each level. It was like a MAD HOUSE! We were puzzled
to see many people sitting around the center stage placing their floor mats and
some were seated comfortably reading books while some snacking away. We later
found out from the guide that they were actually queuing for the parade which
will begins in 2 hours!!! We couldn’t believe our ears!!! They are seriously
either too free or too bored to do such things… sorry… but I am just being
practical!
There were too many people in the themed park
and we did not have any chance to take the rides as most of the queues were minimum
90 minutes of waiting time which we felt that it was a total waste of time. We spent
about one and the half hour in the themed park taking pictures and had lunch. The
lunch was moderate but the kids’ meal was very attractive indeed.
After the boring trip to the themed park, we
went to visit the Asakusa Kannon Temple. I remembered visiting this place when I
was on business trip back many years ago. I remembered combing the streets with
my Japanese colleague and trying out almost all the snacks as we walked towards
the shrine. This place did not really change a bit as there are still many snacks
& souvenirs stalls along the way before reaching the sacred temple. We took
the opportunity to snap some pictures while others explore the place and went
about trying some of their snacks.
We continued to do some more working at Shinjuku Shopping area and it was just as crowded as Casuseway Bay in Hong Kong! We roamed around the place and checked out some shops but we had too little time to shop in such a big area. I guess we will try to be back here again during one of our free day.
After sending us back to the hotel, we brought the
family to the Izakaya restaurant that we ate last night for dinner. The staff
were very kind and warm, they kindly prepared the table for our family of 15
though we did not have any reservations. We ordered many dishes to share and we
were happy that everyone enjoyed the food especially the elderly where they
mentioned that it was one great meal so far.
Since it was still early after our delicious
dinner, we took a walk at the nearest supermarket which is located just next to
our hotel. We had a great time shopping at the supermarket too as their fruits,
snacks and the milk were so much affordable than back home. Thumps up!
