I would say that this year is rather special as I am performing for the first time in 17 years… being one of the committee members, we had to arrive early to prepare ourselves and make sure everything is in order.
When I arrived, we went straight up to our day use room and hurried down to the ballroom to check out if everything was fine. We returned to our room to do our make-up and Theresa was my personal make-up artiste! She had done a great job on my eyes man… my colleagues were impressed and they too asked her to do their eye make-up… hahhaah… Thumps UP!
This year’s theme was ‘Fly With Us’, something related to airplane and so, the committee dressed up as cabin crews. Our bosses were very sporting too… GM was dressed as Captain and Ishii-san & Suganou-san was dressed up as Pilot / co-pilot. Hahahaahah… it was really fun. When all ‘passengers’ boarded the ‘plane’, the captain and crews had our walk in… that was really nice and we stood by the side of the ballroom to watch the safety clip.
The event officially started with a bang… there was a group of young Indian dancers performed and it was great. Then the program continued… there was a performance by our GM and it was totally fantastic! I was surprised but happy to see the other fun side of our GM who did ‘We will rock you’ together with Mr. Shinobe, Lance, Keith & Kelvin. They were a bunch of fun fellows to watch indeed.
At the second part of the night, I became nervous as it was almost our turn to perform. To be honest, I haven’t done this for the longest time and I was really so nervous that I was almost gonna to shit! Hahahaahaha…. Anyway, the dance went well and everyone was happy. Right after our dance, we had a mini-disco for the staff and to our surprise; many staff actually came forward to dance before the Grand Lucky Draw. We really had fun but somehow the disco had to come to an end.
During the Grand Lucky Draw segment, Rie was called up to stage as she was chosen to be one of the lucky winners. I was really excited for her and hoping that she will win the 1st prize. They played the musical chairs and at the end of it, Rie was so lucky that she was indeed the winner for our 1st prize! Congrats KK!! She is flying off to Bali!! Yippy!
The party ended after the Grand Draw and it’s time to go home to be with our little one after a long day!
