Faith’s Birthday Celebration At School

As I was down with fever, flu and cough since Faith’s birthday party last weekend and so was our little Faith. I felt kind of bad as I promised Faith to bake her birthday cake for school party but I was really feeling lousy. Wanted to get the cake from Awfully Chocolate but the price was somehow extreme and I decided to do it myself.

I picked myself up and started baking the chocolate cake and muffins for her school party and with the help of my mum; I managed to complete all the baking while feeling feverish at 38.8 degree. I was kind of worried that the cake will taste bad due to my ‘unwell’ judgment but it was quite alright…

Anyway, cake & muffins were ready for school party. We left the house for her school and her friends were happy to see her back to school after a few days of absence. They were overjoyed to see the goody bags and the cake too. The teachers were really helpful and tables were already set up when we arrived.

We started the celebration right away and the kiddos were very co-operative too. They stood around the table and started singing her the birthday song after the photo session. Faith was happy to celebrate her birthday with her friends and distributed the goody bags to her friends while I cut the cake.

I was relieved to see her friends and teachers enjoying the cake and some of kiddos even requested for second serving… hahahaahahah

Happy birthday darling Faith! May the good Lord continue to watch over you and shower you with His everlasting blessings!! We love you!

Baby Girl’s Birthday Celebration

How time flies… our baby girl will be turning 4 in a few days’ time. This year with no exceptional, we held her birthday party at Oscars as it’s convenient for all to join and the staff there were fantastic.

When we arrived this afternoon, we were surprised to see the beautiful balloons sculptures on the tables done by the hotel staff. It was so colourful and lovely. Faith’s face brightened up when she saw so many lovely colors of flowers & animal balloons sculptures.
This happy occasion was made possible with our dear family members, relatives and close friends. Everyone enjoyed both food and company of each other and the kiddos had their own set of goodie bags and drawing sets.

Faith was surprised by the cake we ordered for her and she simply loved it. She was so happy to see her Minnie Mouse Cake that she could not stop smiling and checking the cake out… all the kiddos and adults gathered together and sang the birthday song and it was paparazzi time…

After the cake cutting ceremony, the hotel staff kindly sliced and distributed the cakes for us while we enjoyed the rest of the afternoon chatting with friends and family. The kiddos were entertaining themselves with bubbles and those beautiful balloons…

We want to thank everyone who joined us for this occasion and your lovely gifts. Your presence definitely made this birthday an extra-ordinary one.

Beautiful Surprise

I was greeted by my little angel who stood near the hallway when I arrived home after serving PRE. She was smiling and welcoming me home with one hand holding the paper flower while the other hand with a greeting card.
I was all smiles and she went… “Happy Mother’s Day, mummy!!! You’re the best mummy in the world wide world!” That certainly melts my heart and I dropped everything in my hands to give her a huge hug which she deserved.

I really thank God for blessing us with this little angel and it’s definitely worth the wait…

Cool Corner

I went to serve PRE at BSC and during the dinner break, Philip drove us out to have a quick bite before the start of the second session.

We drove down to Portsdown Road which is very near to church and to my surprise there is this cool joint located opposite Pietrasanta. The place is called Colbar and it was really crowded. The place is really cool and it brought me back to those school canteen days where people sit around and chat the day away.

Philip told me that they served pretty reasonable and tasty food which brought the crowd. Their popular dishes will be fried bee hoon and kway teow. I ordered the milk shake since it’s like school canteen… ahahahahaahah
I truly agree that both the fried bee hoon and kway teow were really tasty. Though I was kind of stuffed but I couldn’t resist them at all. My vanilla milkshake was great too compared to Mac…. Haahahahaha

Mmmh… I will be back again for sure.

Dinner Gathering

It’s been quite a while since we met for dinner as everyone was busy with their own stuff. However, I am glad that everyone made an effort to meet for dinner at Wine Connection Tapas Bar & Bistro.

When we arrived on a crowded Saturday evening, most of the seats were already taken up and we were given a cozy corner at the end of the restaurant. Upon the arrival of everyone, we ordered the dishes like sausages, wedges, pizza, pastas etc. to share.
It was not on the food that was great but our conversation too. There was so much to catch up with one another especially for Belle who joined us for dinner for the first time. It was such a wonderful time sharing and laughing over a simple and tasty meal.

Thought time spent with one another was short but it was one fantastic and fun dinner indeed. I am sure we will have another gathering soon.

Lunch At Burlamacco

Boss hosted lunch for our trainee from Japan and we chose to try out the Italian Restaurant located at Amoy Street.

The restaurant was almost filled when we arrived and after browsing through the menu, we decided to order the Balsamic Grilled Octopus Tentacles which has always been my favorite and Burrito cheese served with cherry tomato and Parma ham as our appetizers.

I would give it a THUMPS UP for the Octopus tentacles… it was chewy and tasty. Though the tentacles were big but somehow it was just too good to share… I can finish it at one go…

I ordered the black squid ink risotto with gold leaf which was pretty good but I would very much prefer the angel hair sea urchin pasta which was delicious (though Otto’s preparation was BEST!). Otto’s sea urchin’s pasta was much tastier and refine compared to this.
For mains, I ordered their grilled grain fed beef tenderloin which was heavenly! Everyone had a small share of the beef and enjoyed very much though we were pretty stuffed.
We have to save the space for desserts of course and we ordered their Pannacotta with vanilla bean and berries… the presentation was simply pretty and it tasted just as good.
This restaurant served pretty good food though the price is slightly on the higher side. Will be back again.

Birthday Party Of Julia & Vernon

Vivian’s kiddos celebrated their children’s birthday during this beautiful Easter Season and invited us to join this special occasion.

It was held at her sister’s place at Bishan and this time, the arrangements were much better as there were enough tables and chairs for all their guest. They catered from one of our favourite caterers, Chili Padi and man… I love the food but somehow did not have much appetite.
Faith was initially busy helping mei mei Julia with the decors and when Evelyn’s dog came to the function, it became the center of attraction. All the kiddos started to take turns to walk the dog with the space given.
Faith was really happy to be able to walk the dog but somehow she can’t seem to control the little dog as it wasn’t listening to her instructions… hahaahahaha she did not get mad but spoke to the dog asking it to listen to her.
The lovely parents prepared 2 different cakes for both children and we got to try the best of both birthday cakes… Thumps UP!
Happy birthday to Julia & Vernon, may the good Lord bless you always and shower you with His eternal love.
