Halloween At USS

We mentioned about going to the Halloween party organized by USS but never make it there. This time, we are very serious about going and after knowing that there was discount when we book online, we did not hesitate and blocked the date quickly.

Since then, we were worried and scared though we are looking forward to this happening night out with the girls. We read through the reviews after their opening night and yes, it did look scary to us.

My imagination started to go haywire and it was somehow our topic during luncheon. We tried to check out with friends who went for this event and heard that it was quite scary for certain haunted houses. As days draw nearer, our fear level shot up!

TODAY IS THE DAY! THERE IS NO TURNING BACK! We headed down to Sentosa for our quick snack and started queuing at the entrance of USS. The gate will officially open at 7pm and we took some pictures to calm ourselves down before the scare!

When we entered USS after about 45mins of wait, we stood still watch their first performance which was quite entertaining. I was amazed by their make-up and they certainly looked weird and scary. We chose our route and went straight to the 1st haunted house… apparently one of the scariest one among the five.
There was a long queue and we made friends with 2 P6 girls along the way and they requested to join us as they were afraid. We welcomed them of course and put on a brave front but scared to hell on the inside… ahahahahahahaha…we heard screams from the haunted house and that somehow pumped up our heart!

It’s time to enter the unknown… I was laughing at Leng as she started screaming while we were in the queue nearing to the entrance and she was grabbing me throughout the trail… she too was flapping her handheld fan on my shoulder and with that, I was fearless… haahahahah… if that is not enough, as we walked, the two Js (Jessie & Jessica) who were walking ahead of us warned us about the ‘ghost’ ahead and what will be appearing on the sides… can anyone tell me how to AFRAID if there were so many clues and distraction around you…. Hahahahaahahah

I started to be so calm that I gave a high-five to the ghost crew whose hands were dangling from above and gave a thumps up to another lady ghost who tried to scare me from the side. I couldn’t scream at all but laughed my way out to the door. It was really hilarious thanks to my buddies… After we were out of the haunted house, we noticed that Sam Sam was injured. She told us that she had tripped over something while trying to avoid the ghost… poor girl.

We want to proceed to another haunted house but the queues were too painful to join. We had to wait at least 90 mins for each house so; we headed down to take rides instead. As we walked around the park, we passed through the open site where many free to roam ghost were around let you have a close encounter with them.

While I was looking at other ghosts, there was this silly lady ghost who came right infront of me and gave out a scream… I wasn’t afraid but was puzzled on what had happened… it was pretty much funny and we continued to roam the park.

Along the way, we saw many people rushing into the theatre and we went along too. We were glad to be able to get inside on time to watch this fantastic and amazing performance which gave me goosebumps. It was truly one of the best shows ever and it got us talking while we walked out. Thumps Up!

We heard that there was another performance at the main stage and we stood to watch. Well, it was good show and man… the girls were not only sexy but great singers. After the performance, we went to the souvenir shop to get some air-con as it was so hot outside. We browsed through some of the stuff sold in the shop and started to pick up some funny stuff to take pictures to entertain ourselves. It was hilarious!

We had a great night out to the USS on a Halloween Special and perhaps we will be back next year again… J

Dinner At OSO

We are happy to be invited to dine at Oso with Joycelyn after a long time. She is one very nice agent but currently friend to us and we try to catch up once in a while. She was so nice to pick us up at our office and sent us to the dinner venue.

When we arrived at OSO which has relocated to Oasia Hotel at Tanjong Pagar, the restaurant gave a more ‘high class’ feel compared to their old venue at Bukit Pasoh. I remembered dinning at their old venue was more casual though it was considered ‘FINE DINING’.

This is my first time visiting Oasia Hotel and it’s quite a pretty place I would say. Oso, located on the sheltered pool level and the interior was pretty much classy. We browsed through the menu and ordered some of our favourite dishes to share.

I was happy that they kept the food standard but the price was slightly higher than before. I personally liked the Angel Hair with crab meat, chilli, tomato and garlic whilst Leng preferred the Black Truffle Risotto. The rest of the dishes were good especially our blue cheese which was served with crackers…. SUPER YUMMY!

The dinner was great with not only good food but with great company. Thank you, Joycelyn for the wonderful evening.

Thank You ‘Jon Jon’

It came as a surprised when we received the resignation letter from Jon Jon a few ago and what was even more shocking was his last day with us will be today!

We did not have much time to react on his resignation but we quickly arranged a farewell lunch for him to thank him for his service. He has served our department well as our driver and we will be missing him after he leaves.

We went to lunch at Bali Thai located at Suntec City as it’s a halah restaurant. Saito-san gave him the green light to order any food he prefers and turned out we ordered food that could feed the whole village… haahahahahahaah…
It was indeed a nice lunch with him and only then, I really got to know him better in terms of what he was doing previously and what he will be doing after he leaves. I am really shocked to know that I have been working with a millionaire… that’s so cool!!! He told us about his business in Indonesia and one transaction will earn him millions of dollars… SHOCKING yea! I am really happy that he has chosen this path as my impression of him is more like a BOSS rather than a driver since day one.

Jon Jon, I would like to wish you every success in your business! Cheers!

Chill Out With Buddies

It’s always nice to take a break from work and chill with buddies once in a while. Today, we took ½ day leave and went for a sumptuous lunch at Irodori Japanese Restaurant located at Four Points by Sheraton. This restaurant is one of my favourite joint and I am happy to have brought my buddies over for luncheon.

As usual, we ordered many dishes as it was a-la-carte buffet. We ordered about 2 rounds of sashimi and many other tasty dishes to share and ate till we can’t fill our stomach anymore. Mmh… yes, money well spent indeed when it comes to food. Hahahahaahahah

Since it’s still early, we headed down to Wisma Atria for coffee but we ended up eating AGAIN! We ordered coffee & cheese tart set and continued our chat while waiting for Rie to join us with Mizuki (my God-daughter).

Though it was merely a half day catching up session, we had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with good buddies’ company and of course the food which made us so DRUNK… hahaahahahah

Thank you buddies and till the next round… have a great evening!

Congratulations To Ivan & Clara

When I first received the wedding invitation from my cousin Joseph, I couldn’t believe that his son Ivan will be tying the knot as my memory of him remains at his kiddy age of 5.

I was certainly happy that he will be getting married and in fact, I simply love attending weddings. The couple had no other choice to host their wedding dinner on a Monday evening due to the busy F1 weekend.

When we arrived at CHIJMES an hour before the official wedding party, it was really nice to see the young couple offering tea to the elders during the Chinese Tradition Tea Ceremony though both of them lived in the western country.
Our kiddos were excited about the wedding as well as the bride. Lady Faith told me that she simply love Clara’s gown which was simple yet lovely and she told me that she is wearing almost similar to the bride. J It is my first time meeting with Clara and she is a very sweet indeed but an adventurous girl (found out her adventures on Ivan’s FB).

The party started with Benedict (Ivan’s Bro), our MC for the night. After the introduction, we welcomed the newlyweds and I was moved to tears by Ben’s speech about his bro, it was so sweet.

Dinner by CHIMES was pretty nice though they were not the best. Everyone was enjoying themselves mostly with juices and a handful with wine. I thoroughly enjoyed the couple’s speech after the second walk in on how they met, fell in love and now got married. It definitely brought back memories of my own wedding too.

We were unable to stay as the kiddos has school the next day but we managed to have a group picture taken with the bride & groom that was not to be missed.
Wishing Ivan & Clara a blessed marriage and May you guys continue to love each other like you fell for the first time. Cheers!

Little Emma’s First School Outing

When we received the consent form from school in regards to the outing with family, we were excited about it as this would be a chance for us to have our own family quality time and as well as getting to know her school friends.

I would say that the most excited person who came to know about this outing would be our Lady Faith who began imaging herself reuniting with her friends who has siblings in her sister’s school. She knows a few of our ex-classmates whose siblings are still in the same school and she confidently believed that she will be meeting her friends on the day of event.

True enough, she was so happy to see her friends Haruki & Liz whom she missed so much since they parted ways for Primary One. It was really heartwarming to see how happy the 3 girls were and how much they treasured each other.
We set off with the Hippo Bus Ride and it was truly a great experience as a first timer. The ride was a fantastic and informative one hour ride round the places of interests in Singapore. The bus brought us through Arab Street, Rocher Road, Little India and Chinatown which was pretty much the history of Singapore. Though the kids were too young to know the places of interest, they were equally happy enjoying the bus ride with their friends.

We got onboard to the Duck Tour after our bus ride and our little Emma was pretty much worried as we told her that we will be going down to the Singapore River. She was worried about getting wet and having some sea creatures dashing out of the river… hahaahahahahah after calming her down, she was doing well and enjoyed the half an hour boat ride. It was her first time seeing the Merlion and she was telling us that it was very scary coz’ it was the witch mermaid that turned the lion into a Merlion!!! Hahahaahahahahaha

We thoroughly enjoyed the outing organized by the school and YES, we are looking forward to the next outing.

Casual Dining With Matsuda-San

Matsuda-san used to be one of my favourite bosses in our office during his assignment in Singapore. He was from the HRD and he had tried to make things different in the office but somehow it failed in a way or another. It wasn’t because he was not capable to change but it was the management that refused to accept his ideas and changes. Sighz… very sad isn’t it!

Anyway, after he returned to Tokyo, he decided to retire and start up his own consultant company and I trust that he is doing very well. He has been visiting Asia pretty often and this time, he got in touch with us and we met up for a quick luncheon.
He did not change a bit from the last time we met him. He was looking great and very much happier person now compared to his terms in Singapore. I totally enjoyed the luncheon with him and we had shared so much information.

We are happy to know that he is doing well with his current work and has been travelling to Indonesia and Singapore pretty often. We do hope that we will meet up once again when he is in town in the near future.
