Farewell Boss

Have not tried waking at 5:45am for a long long time! Woke up this morning feeling really tired and extremely sleepy; I even had a mixed feeling if I should go to the airport to send my boss off! Anyway, I decided to go finally since my eyes are already opened wide!



We have planned to meet everyone at the airport at 7am as Miyazaki-san’s flight was 8:20am which I thought he was kind of inconsiderate lor… it’s a SUNDAY leh… sighz… Everyone was on time and he arrived at 7am Premier Check-in area.





While waiting for time to pass, we entertained ourselves by taking video and photos for keepsake. I would say that I can’t bear to see him return to Japan as he was a really nice boss. At around 7:30am, he finally checked himself in and departed….











There were no tears though we thought some of us will be crying at the airport but it was a happy farewell instead… all smiles.

Meaningful National Day

Ever since the national day parade was staged in National Stadium, I no longer enjoy the performance anymore. I remembered when I was younger; we are able to see the soldiers marched on the road and the beautiful floats moving around our estate. I lost interest in watching or celebrating the national day coz’ I thought the performance were boring and no longer exciting.

This year, I was asked by Alpha Ministry to help out in the Housebound Mass on National Day. I was at first taken aback as I have no experience and worried as we were supposed to sing in church and not in the hall. I was really afraid as it was a mass for the housebound and it had to be done perfectly. About 4 weeks before the event, we had practices after practices to perfect our timing for the songs we were supposed to sing.

On 9th August 2008 at 11am, the housebound mass started. I was as usual scared and worried that I might sing off tune… anyway, the mass went well and I was really touched by the whole thing as I saw the elderly people who were on wheelchair smiling and very glad to be blessed by the priest. It was really very fulfilling moment for me as this was the 1st time I participated in such a meaningful event.



After mass, we proceed to the hall where there are performance and lunch. There were so much food and my mum enjoyed herself very much. The performance was interesting and great too. There were performance by the priest, the elderly and our very own Alpha group. Susan was so kind that she took pictures for many and she took the effort to print them out too. The event was really successful as I could see smiles on everyone’s face which really brightens up my day.

National Day Preview 2008

We checked ourselves in to Pan Pacific Hotel this afternoon. Well, actually we did not stay for the sake of watching the National Day preview but the stay (lucky draw) will expired on 9th August.

It was our 1st time staying at the Pacific Club Floor and indeed, it was a very pleasant experience. We were greeted on the 33rd floor when Pacific Club guest check-in. 1st we were greeted by the warmth welcome by the staff on duty; a glass of orange juice and a cold towel and a very quick check on our particulars. After a couple of minutes, the friendly staff Connie showed us to our room.

There was a brief introduction on our privileges while staying on the Pacific Club floor and the view was magnificent! We could view the NDP stage and the beautiful skyline! Simply gorgeous! I was really impressed by their services and of course the wonderful spacious room. What made the stay special was we were able to enjoy the benefits of having afternoon tea, evening cocktails, breakfast and the best… all drinks in the room mini-bar are free excluding alcohol. It was indeed a fantastic prize!








When evening came, we went down to the 33rd floor (Sunrise Lounge) and got us the best view of the NDP preview. I was extremely excited not for the performance but for the air craft to fly pass. It has been my favorite segment for NDP.








I gave a 7/10 to this year’s NDP, simply love the colors that use which were beautiful and the music was quite good too. I was amazed how the lights and pictures appeared on the wired fences. It was simple cool and well-done. Though it was a just a preview, but somehow I felt the mood and it was great. (usually can’t be bothered with NDP!)

Finally the segment that we have been waiting for the whole night… FIREWORKS! It was really beautiful and lasted for like 3 minutes. It’s our very 1st time experiencing fireworks at the comfort of our hotel room. It was simply awesome and romantic.
