Jessie’s Birthday Lunch

It was special occasion yesterday indeed. It was buddy Jessie’s birthday and was our pleasure to be part of her celebration.

We went to Swensen’s at Suntec City for this special luncheon. It was surprisingly crowded at the restaurant where usually we only find some ‘flies’ around… alright, I shouldn’t be mean la… coz’ they serve great food there.

As it was a previous 1 hour lunch, we placed our orders asap and told them to have it served soonest. Jessie & Julia who were held up with some work at the office arrived only at 12:50pm which left them only approximately ½ hour to swallow their food.

Julia, Rie & me ordered their all time favorite ‘Fish & Chips’, Jessie had their special set ‘Tom Yam Goong Baked Rice’, Susan had her pizza and Angie ordered her favorite ‘Black Pepper Seafood Pasta’. Thankfully, our food was served pretty fast and though we were running out time, we definitely enjoyed our food.

Back to School

It’s been such a long time since I was involved in school events and activities. My buddy Susan recalled me to help out for her project at our school Food & Funfair.

It was a SUPER rare Saturday morning to find me up and awake as early as 7:30am! Yes, I got up early to wait for Vivian’s taxi as we were heading back to SCHOOL! We were kind of clueless of what we were supposed to help at the funfair though we know that we were assigned to be at the Haunted House.

When we reached around 9:30am, we were surprised to see a long queue outside the Haunted House of ’91. The queue was full of primary school kids and their parents. It was quite an awesome sight to be honest as Susan and her girls put them so much effort to decorate the classroom.

Vivian & me managed to enter the ‘Haunted House’ by the back door and were laughing at those kids who were trying their best to walk through the place with those ‘Ghost’. They were screaming their lungs out and some were brave enough to get through quietly. Both of us were figuring out how to make it even more ‘scary’ so that more people will queue to experience it. We changed some of the set up and with the help of those UV lights and smoke machine, the effect were much greater than what our class did back in 1991!

The only minus point was the ‘ghost’ switched their position too often and even had their mask changed when some of the students were in the room. We thought that was not too professional and got Susan to inform the girls to stay put at their own positions. Well, after that scolding, it definitely worked for a while.

It was quite an enjoyable day attending the funfair and helping out at the Haunted House definitely brought back fond memories of those days when we did our own.

Dinner Gathering

It was supposed to be post and pre birthday celebrations but somehow it ended up a great dinner gathering instead as one of our dear friends did not turn up AGAIN!

We went to En Japanese Restaurant at Mohamad Sultan for dinner. Theresa booked the tatami style seats for us and the place was really cozy and nice. The food we ordered was simply delicious though the price wasn’t that cheap. Overall, it was quite reasonable la… coz’ the food was really good. Will probably go there again with hubby…

Though we did not ordered the whole menu but somehow it was enough to fill all. As usual, being greedy, we went to satisfy our sweet tooth at Laurent’s Café & Chocolate Bar, Robertson Quay. When we reached there, it was very crowded though at around 10ish in the night. Yes, the night is still very young on a Friday night. We ordered 2 Chocolate Soufflé and a Rum & Raisins Soufflé. Man… those 3 ordered made us waited for ½ hour but it’s all worth the wait as it tasted like heaven! The Chocolate Soufflé comes with a small pitcher of dark chocolate sauce and a small glass of Raspberry sorbet. It was indeed a perfect combination.

Last night, we really made history… 6 of us managed to squeeze in our dear friends Marion’s Mini Copper. It was an unforgettable ride from Mohamad Sultan to Zouk. Though we were not that small size but somehow we managed to squeeze in… it’s simply amazing. When we arrived at Zouk, it was crowded (that is pretty usual).
Evon, Angie & Germaine (waiting for us at Velvet)

It has been a long long time since our group has partied together. Those were the days when we used to meet there without knowing what time to meet but somehow managed to find each other. The party crowd has changed quite a bit as time goes by and fashion sense too. We might felt out of place as we saw some younger people really dressed to KILL… I mean really MURDER! The music was great as usual and we enjoyed ourselves not only the dancing but also laughing at those people that tried so hard to DANCE.

Anyway, it was quite a night out with the girls and bet we’ll be doing it again sometime…
