Department Dinner Gathering

With our two newly DH and DDH came onboard as of April 2016, they requested us to schedule a dinner gathering as a get-to-know session. It was sweet of them to request for such a gathering and we do hope that the gathering will be a fun one.

After a few proposals made to our new DH Tsuchiya-san, he finally chose Da Paolo Bistro as the venue for our dinner. Though the venue is pretty far away but it served up good food. Samantha, Linda & I were the first batch to arrive and we started ordering our food while waiting for the rest. We tried to snack but somehow we found ourselves finished a few starters before they arrived…
We started ordering food like pastas, pizzas and more starters to share while the bosses decided to order some beers and wines to compliment the dishes. We were pretty much happy that they ordered the wines freely and we too were asked to drink as much as we can. Hahaahahahaha

During the dinner, there were good conversations exchanged and it was pretty fun to hear laughter compared to our past dinner outings with the bosses. J This is a good group of people for the start and we hope they worked the same way too.
After our sumptuous dinner, we suggested to head down to Zouk for more drinks. Some had to leave for their commitment while the rest of us went wild with the bosses. We were pretty early for Velvet when we arrived and we hang out at Wine Bar for drinks while waiting for the doors to be opened.

We went to Phuture as our 1st club and it was good chance to show them around as a preparation for our chill out session in September. There was no crowd at that time as it was way too early for the night birds to come out. We toured them around; Phuture, Velvet Dance and Velvet Lounge while waiting for the crowd to turn up.

We decided to stay put at Velvet as the music was better than Phuture then and we got ourselves comfortable near the huge speaker and got ourselves on the dance floor. Pretty much uncomfortable at first to dance with the bosses but after some drinks, everyone was dancing wildly…. Hahahaahahah

It was one good gathering and party session with the bosses! Thumps up for them for being spontaneous!

Tuck Shop In School

This would be first ever coolest project that is done by Star Learners. This is a tuck shop in school where the students and teachers put effort together to form snacks and food stores in school and parents are invited to buy them.

Teachers prepared food like sandwiches, muffins, brownies, fried bee hoon, fried rice, dumplings while students packed sweets, snacks and titbits.
When entered her school this evening, teachers led us to the ‘tuck shop’ area for our food shopping. We saw our lady Faith getting herself busy selling the parents her cakes which she was put to take charge of. The moment she saw us, she pointed out the food that she wanted us to buy and told us to help buy her food from her friend’s store.

It was really interesting to see her friends and lady Faith standing behind the stores selling their food and snacks. Some even explained to us what they were selling while some just told us to buy as they told us that ‘business weren’t good’… hahahaahahah

This is one great way to get the children learning how to count and handle cash as to prepare them to Primary One in 2017.

Dinner @ Pietro With The Ngs

We visited them in Perth last month and happy see them back to Singapore for a short holiday. We managed to meet up with them for a casual dinner.

Since they are living around Lorong Chuan area, we decided to bring them to Pietro as it was convenient and it’s a great place to chill with friends like them. J

Faith was really in high spirits when she met her best friend from overseas for the first time in Singapore. They became best friends when they met in Perth and I am sure their friendship will last for the lifetime.

It was a quiet Tuesday evening at Pietro and we were considered the only bigger group in the restaurant. Hubby ordered our favourite dishes to share and a mushroom soup for Bella as she wasn’t feeling too well after returning from their Japan trip.

It was a great night of chatting and catching up with each other. They were such lovely family and I can’t wait to visit them in Perth again.

Lady Faith’s Ballet Exam

She was exempted from school today for the preparation of her ballet exam which will take place in the afternoon. She was obviously excited but nothing compared to what I am feeling… NERVOUS! Yes, I may be over reacting but I guess this is normal for a parent to feel nervous for her child who will be going through the exam for the very first time.

I combed, waxed and bun her hair making sure that she will look neat and clean for the exam. Honestly, I was really nervous the moment I combed her hair. I was afraid that the bun will not be stable or loose and may cause her loose points if it falls off during her performance.

After sending her to the examination room at the Hougang CC, we were told to fetch her at a certain time. Hubby & I went straight for our lunch and honestly, I couldn’t think straight or perhaps enjoy my meal coz’ I was worried for her. I know it sounds silly but I just couldn’t help it.

I was filled with relieved when I saw her at the resting room with her ballet teacher Ms. Tan. She was all smiles and told us that she did very well. J When asked about her ballet exam, she told us that she remembered all her steps and she noticed that the examiner smiled at her too. I was so happy and proud to know that she has gained the confidence that she was lacked of once…
Congrats to you my sweetheart for doing well! We love you!

Ballet Can Be Fun!

Our lady Faith has been taking up ballet lessons for about 2 years now and she certainly mastered some skills eversince.

Parents were invited to join the session to view how much they have achieved compared to the beginning stage. I noticed that she wasn’t able to do her skips but now she has mastered it very well and I felt so proud of her for being able to dance so gracefully…
In a few days’ time, she will be sitting for her 1st class award exams and I am sure that will be another milestone for her ballet. She told me that she is feeling nervous but I calmed her down by reassuring her that she is doing very well.

I am happy that she is having fun with her ballets friends and enjoying the skill at the same time.
