This movie created a big Hoo-Ha even before it was screened. The newspapers, media and all the movies review about the making of the movie, the actors & actress.
Finally, I went to watch the movie with my colleagues last night at Plaza Singapore. I have heard so much about the movie from friends and yes… about the sex scenes… call me ‘hum sap’ if you like la… but this is one movie that the ever cutie Tony Leung stripped down… needless for me to say more...
The movie started off with the story line back in Shanghai during the World War II era. The main actress Tang Wei played a Chinese college student who gets involved with a drama club after meeting Wang Lee Hom, a fellow classmate where her life began to change. She was to put her acting in real life dangerous mission which turned her into Mrs. Mak only to ensnare with Mr. Yee plays Tony Leung who is a major Japanese collaborator into an affair so that Lee Hom and his cohorts can kill him. Eventually, they did not succeed in killing but got themselves killed instead!!!
Well… the sex scenes, mmmmh… I would say nothing spectacular about it. It wasn’t those ‘turn-on’ scenes where you will ‘woohhhh’ about but somehow, the 1st scene was kinda violent. The 2nd & 3rd sex scenes were slightly better, more passionately but somehow don’t have the ‘turn-on’ factor. I found some scenes quite unnecessary rather.
The whole movie lasted about 21/2 hours and I was almost dozing off as it was slow. I couldn’t wait for it to end as soon as possible. I guess I am no ‘arty farty’ to appreciate such artistic movie.
