Pre-BD Dinner

Though I am getting YOUNGER and somehow dinner with friends will make the birthday meaningful. Taking this opportunity, I arranged a dinner with my closest buddies (more like family) to dine at Oscar’s.



When we arrived, we were seated at the corner nearest to the buffet but we requested to change to another corner with a bigger space… hahahah… Edward kindly arranged to move us to another private corner. I felt warmly welcomed by my friends in Conrad when they came by before our dinner.

Our feast started with lots of seafood (Hairon ate like she had the whole Kelong!) and we enjoyed the parma ham and as well as the salad. Though the mains were attractive but we were still enjoying the salads and the sushi at the same time… Yepz… very greedy and confused! Hahahaha. I was also surprised that Conrad arranged a small birthday cake for me and it was great as I could share that with my friends.




Half way through desserts, Vivian and I distributed their Valentine gift… they were surprised and very happy to receive our school tee-shirts as a valentine gift… hahahaahah it certainly brought back loads of memories and we started talking about it… especially the one … ‘Eternal FRAME’!!!!!




Though time spent with friends were short but it was wonderful indeed. Thank you pals for your company and I had a great time. Cheers!

Bon Voyage…

Susan has been waiting for this day for the longest time and for the past few weeks, counting down…

I totally walked all three airport halls today! Earlier today, I was at Terminal 2 & Terminal 3 for site inspection and lunch. I was at Terminal 1 this evening to send off a dear friend of mime, Susan. She is my childhood friend and went to the same school.

When I arrived at the airport, she had already checked herself in and was relaxing at the coffee house with her parents. She was really in high spirit and all set to go. Was pretty worried for her as she was flying to Brisbane where the bush-fire is… anyway, she had to go coz’ her school term will start soon.



I am very happy for her that she could further her studies but I know I will definitely miss her dearly though we don’t meet up often while she is here. I know that she will take good care of herself as she is one super independent girl!

Buddy, please take good care of yourself and drink more water okie. I am very sure HE will be watching over you.

Airport & Restaurant Inspection

We will be expecting some VIP guest mid next month and they will be here for transit. As my boss Minowa-san will be taking care of them during their short stay here, he will be arranging dinner for them near the airport preferably.

Minowa-san invited Linda and me to join him for a walk at the airport to check out the rough duration from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 via skytrain. Personally, I don’t get to ride on the skytrain often as usually we take taxi or bus which will bring us directly to either the arrival or departure halls.

After a short inspection at both Terminal 2 and 3, we went for lunch at Imperial Treasures located at Crowne Plaza Terminal 3. We made a reservation there for our guest in March so, we were sort of there to do a food tasting… hahaahaha

My first impression of the restaurant was really chic. The décors were really oriental and very beautiful. I heard from boss that they are actually ‘cousins’ of Crystal Jade. The menu was almost similar to Crystal’s and boss was spotted by some of the staff there as they used to be working for Lei Garden.




We ordered dim sums and man, the taste was really good. Very impressive indeed though they were just normal shrimp dumplings, shark’s fin dumpling soup etc… but my favorite would be the goose meat which is not common.








I will definitely bring my family to Imperial Treasures again.

CNY Gathering At Jessie’s Place

It’s a yearly affair that Jessie would invite us to her place for CNY gathering. This year is not exceptional.

Set off from home to buy Yu Sheng to her place in the afternoon and when I arrived at her place, my colleagues were already there… for once, they were early!! Hahaahahahah…. Anyway, she & her family prepared so much food for us and I was really happy to see my favorite ‘Tang Hoon’ laying in the kitchen stove.

Obviously that was the dish I attacked first and then the rest of them later. We sat around and chatted as Patrick brought his GF to her place, so did Gerald. It was my first time meeting them and they were friendly. I was really happy for PO who recently attached… hahhaha… Cheers PO!



Since most were around, we prepared the yusheng and started to Loi Hei. Mmmh… it would be my 13th times and my last time for this year. Thirteen in Cantonese is an auspicious number and I would stay that way.



Anyway, we started off the card games quickly as some were leaving for other appointments. It was really fun and PO was the banker but later lost pretty much. We continued till early evening. At the end of the game, it was a small winning for me and my colleague whereas some lost.

It was one fun gathering though the numbers weren’t big this year. We’ll be back again next year!!

What A Pleasant Surprise!

Was in-law’s place this evening for dinner this evening and I was really surprised that they prepared the Yu Sheng themselves! They prepared mostly the family favorite dishes like the curry vegetables, mushroom with pork rips & Fa Cai, chili prawns, roast duck, mixed roast meat, steam fish and soup.

After dinner while I was playing with the little one Gen, Nicholas came out with a cake and started wishing me ‘Happy Birthday’. Then the family came together and started singing… I was really touched and became very shy for a moment! I gathered the kids to blow the candle with me after making a wish and it was such a warm moment.


Thank you Maggie for buying the cake, it was such a pleasant surprise.

Loi Hei Gathering

It’s coming to the end of CNY celebration and we have decided to have a Loi Hei for our group. This is one of the dinners that we were looking forward to as least for me!

We set off from office in two separate cabs to Toa Payoh Lorong 8. When we arrived, it was already quite crowded but thankfully I made a reservation in advance. We browsed through the menu and it did not take us long to order.







Leng wasn’t feeling too well as she was down with flu and had a slight fever but she stayed on for dinner after popping two tablets. We ordered her favorite sweet and sour pork and the rest of the dishes were yu sheng, crab noodle soup, vegetables, fried beancurd, chili crabs with mini man tou and bamboo clams.






The dishes were served in a reasonable timing and were simply delicious. We enjoyed the food very much especially the crab noodle which was first time for some. They mentioned that they will definitely have that again soon. Hahahaahaha…. Trust me, it’s that addictive…



Dinner ended pretty early and we take our separate ways… it was indeed a wonderful dinner with friends and mmmh… guess it will be a yearly affair…
